“I was completely satisfied”
I wanted to formulate my ideas for a bespoke fitness studio in 2016/2017. One of the major questions was, who would do the design and build?
Quality was uppermost in my mind and on the basis of this, I received a recommendation to use Chris Hodgson Engineering.
We both proceeded, the gym was built and I was completely satisfied, so much so, that when I decided to build an additional fitness and performance facility in 2019 with state of the art swimming pool, I utilised the skills of Chris Hodgson Engineering for a second time. Contracts Manager, Phil Conibear, provided the solution for accessing the mezzanine without stealing valuable space required by a staircase, with the design of a spiral staircase and this illustrated the overall commitment to my project.
I was very happy for a second time, with the quality and finished product.

I acquired the Manor House Hotel back in 1978 with a plan for it to be something different – a Sport and Craft Hotel. The search started for an inexpensive local builder who could build to a strict timescale. Speed of build with flexibility of size, controllable costs and buildings that would stand the test of time, were paramount.
Finding a local builder who could meet these requirements proved increasingly difficult until I received a recommendation to get in touch with Chris Hodgson Engineering.
In 1981 Chris Hodgson Engineering was responsible for our first building – an extension to the Coach House. The following 36 years have seen fantastic growth over our two hotels – 3 Badminton Halls,(each with 4 courts), 7 Indoor Tennis Halls, 3 Indoor Bowls Halls, shooting ranges, 3 Hydro Spas, 3 large indoor swimming pools and much more – every item in conjunction with Chris Hodgson Engineering.
They are 100% reliable and I have never in 38+ years had a problem, nor has the Hotel Complex ever closed due to building works, which is a testament to their build management.
